About Justin Michael
Justin Michael Scott graduated from Emory University School of Law in 2007 after earning his undergraduate degree at Haverford College in 2004. He moved into private practice immediately, joining Asheville-area litigation firm Ashe Rafuse & Hill the same year. Law school and the early months at a small firm shaped his approach to courtroom work and client counseling.
His career trajectory includes multiple moves between large national firms and smaller practices. He returned to Ogletree Deakins in 2010 and again in 2014, gaining repeated exposure to employment-related litigation. In 2012 he became a partner at Buckley & Klein, LLP, a role that expanded his responsibility for case strategy and client management. In 2015 he joined Paul Hastings as a senior associate, where he handled complex litigation matters. Since 2018 he has been the managing shareholder at Radford Scott LLP, overseeing the firm’s operations while continuing to litigate.
Across those posts he developed experience in trial and appellate courts. He is admitted to practice in Georgia and California and to several federal forums, including the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia. He is also admitted to practice before the 11th and 5th Circuits. That mix of state, federal and appellate credentials lets him pursue cases through trial and on appeal when necessary.
Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who spends time in the courtroom and on briefs. He has worked on matters that require rapid motion practice and detailed appellate briefing. His membership in the National Employment Lawyers Association aligns with the litigation profile of his former and current firms. He is a member of the Georgia State Bar and the Atlanta Bar Association as well as the California State Bar.
At Radford Scott LLP he divides his time between managing the firm and representing clients in contested matters. His practice has involved federal courts and circuit appeals, and he regularly appears in state proceedings as well. He handles disputes that involve workplace and employment issues, taking cases from initial pleadings through trial and appellate work.
He maintains registrations and memberships in the bars noted above and continues to represent clients in state and federal courts. He currently concentrates his practice on employment litigation and appellate work at Radford Scott LLP.
