About Justin Michael

Justin Michael Raver built his legal foundation at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He completed a Bachelor of Arts in Administration of Justice in 2004 and went on to earn his Juris Doctor in 2007. Those years on campus shaped how he approaches cases: methodical, attentive to detail and willing to press the record when necessary.

After law school he entered practice in Illinois. Over time he has litigated matters that arise in state courts and federal proceedings. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Those admissions allow him to handle matters that begin at the trial level and, when needed, travel the appellate path.

He practices at Barash & Everett, LLC., where he works alongside other litigators on contested matters. His daily work includes drafting pleadings, preparing briefs and arguing in court. Colleagues describe him as thorough at the drafting table and persistent in pursuing procedural clarity. He does not lean on broad claims; he builds positions from statute, precedent and the record.

Clients tend to seek him out when they need steady advocacy through procedural hurdles. He spends time sorting the facts and isolating legal issues that will matter on appeal. That attention helps when written brief work becomes the decisive moment in a case. In hearings he is direct. He frames arguments around controlling law rather than rhetoric. Opposing counsel and judges respond to a clear, document-driven presentation.

Outside the courtroom he stays connected to developments in Illinois and Seventh Circuit law. He keeps current on recent opinions and statutory changes that affect litigation strategy. That background informs how he frames issues early in a case. It also shapes decisions about what to preserve for appeal.

Raver has built a practice that moves between state forums and federal appellate review. He represents clients in matters in Illinois and before the Seventh Circuit.
