Justin M Gingery built a legal career that bridges formal study and hands-on practice. He earned his J.D. from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1999 after studying Governmental Affairs. He also pursued comparative work at Kings College, University of Aberdeen in 1997, focusing on Comparative Law and Evidence. Earlier degrees include a B.A. from the University of the Pacific in 1996, where he combined Dramatic Arts, Religious Studies and Political Science, and prior coursework in Dramatic Arts at California State University, Chico.
He entered private practice in the early 2000s. In 2001 he launched the Law Offices of Justin M. Gingery, an initial solo practice that marked the start of his independent work. Two years later he joined Gingery Thompson & Derdowski in 2003. Those early years were formative: running a small office, managing client intake and handling the spectrum of tasks that come with solo and small-firm work.
In 2007 Gingery took on an associate role at The Angell Law Office, P.C. That position offered a different vantage point. Working within an established firm structure, he handled assignments alongside more senior colleagues and adapted to collaborative workflows. In 2010 he moved to Dreyer Babich Buccola Wood Campora LLP, an experience that broadened his exposure to firm-based practice and collegial casework.
He returned to operating firms bearing his name in the next decade. In 2017 he led The Gingery Law Group and two years later he became part of Gingery Hammer & Associates LLP. Those iterations reflect both continuity and evolution in his practice. Over time his work has combined the procedural rigor he studied in law school with an interest in evidence and comparative perspectives gained during postgraduate study.
Across two decades of practice in California, Gingery has moved between solo practice and law firms, wearing the hats of lawyer and associate at different points. He holds memberships in professional organizations and has remained active in the state bar environment. Today he practices at Gingery Hammer & Associates, LLP in California, where his current practice centers on the matters he handles through that firm.
