About Justin C
Justin C Lowenthal earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice from California State University, Sacramento and went on to receive his J.D. from Lincoln Law School. His academic path combined an interest in the mechanics of the criminal justice system with professional training in law. That background provided an early framework for a practice that would sit largely outside criminal courtrooms.
He moved into private practice and business roles soon after law school. In 2010 he took on the title of Managing Lawyer at Lowenthal APC. The same year he became Managing Broker for Lowenthal Realty Co., a dual role that kept him split between legal files and active real estate operations. Those simultaneous responsibilities shaped the practical side of his day-to-day work: drafting and negotiating contracts, advising on closings, and overseeing regulatory compliance for transactions.
Local civic involvement followed. In 2014 he served as General Counsel to the Davis Chamber of Commerce, advising local business leaders on governance and transactional matters. In 2018 he accepted an alternate membership on the Yolo County Assessment Appeals Board, participating in hearings tied to property valuations and taxation. That experience added an administrative-law dimension to his practice, particularly around assessment and tax disputes.
Memberships track a steady concentration on property and title issues. He is a current member of the State Bar of California and the Yolo County Bar Association. He also belongs to the National Association of Realtors and the California Association of Realtors. Title-related affiliations include the American Land Title Association and the California Land Title Association. Those associations reflect the mix of legal and brokerage work he has maintained through his career.
Colleagues and clients see a practice built on transactions and municipal-facing matters. He handles real estate transactions, title and title insurance questions, and property tax assessment appeals. He also provides counsel to small businesses and non-profit organizations on governance and routine legal matters. His work spans residential and commercial deals and involves coordination with lenders, title companies, and county offices.
He continues to practice from Lowenthal APC, where his caseload remains concentrated on property law, title issues, and assessment appeals. His current practice focuses on real estate transactions, title matters, and property tax appeals.
