About Justin

Justin Anderson practices law in California as an associate at Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP. He came to the profession after a steady academic path that combined political study and legal training. Anderson earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego in 2015. He then moved east for law school and received his J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 2019.

His early years in law school included classroom study and practical training that prepared him for firm practice. At Duke he worked on case research and brief writing, and he participated in exercises that replicate courtroom procedure. Those experiences translated into the day-to-day tasks of firm life: researching legal issues, drafting documents, and helping prepare for hearings and negotiations.

Anderson joined Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP as an associate after completing law school. At the firm he works alongside partners and fellow associates on client matters handled out of the firm’s California offices. His role involves collaborative case preparation, attending client meetings, and contributing written analysis used in litigation and transactional settings. He is a member of the State Bar of California and maintains his membership while practicing at the firm.

Colleagues describe Anderson as methodical and detail-oriented in his legal work. He approaches assignments by breaking complex problems into discrete issues and by paying close attention to factual record and applicable law. He regularly handles legal research and prepares memoranda that support decision-making by more senior lawyers. He also assists in drafting motions and in preparing exhibits and witness materials for hearings.

Outside of immediate casework, Anderson remains engaged with professional development opportunities the firm and bar offer. He participates in internal training sessions and contributes to team efforts on larger matters that require multiple attorneys. He continues to build his practice and professional network within California’s legal community.

As of 2026 he is an associate at Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP, practicing in California and performing client representation, legal research, and case preparation for the firm’s matters.
