About Justin A.
Justin A. Lackey pursued both his undergraduate and legal education at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, earning a B.A. in Political Science in 2003 and a J.D. in 2006. He began building his professional life in the years that followed, moving from classroom study to community and courtroom involvement.
By 2009, Lackey had established The Lackey Law Office. The firm became the base for his legal work and public engagement. He is admitted to practice in Alabama and before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, and he has sustained steady membership in local and state legal organizations since the start of his practice.
Lackey’s civic activity runs alongside his legal practice. He has served on the Jackson County Bar Association since 2009. He also joined the Alabama State Democratic Executive Committee’s Executive Committee in 2010 and continues to hold that role. Those positions reflect ongoing participation in county and state public affairs rather than short-term volunteer work.
Professional memberships underline aspects of his practice and community ties. Since 2010 he has been part of the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, which suggests involvement in criminal-defense matters. He has also been active in local organizations tied to the University of Alabama. He served on the Jackson County Bama Club’s Executive Committee beginning in 2009 and was the club’s president from 2011 to 2013. Between 2010 and 2012 he sat on the board of directors for The Promenade and The Oaks Homeowners Association, Inc., a role that placed him in neighborhood governance and local dispute resolution.
The arc of his career shows steady local engagement. He runs a solo practice that has been operating for more than a decade and maintains ties to both state and federal court systems. He combines courtroom work with roles in political and civic groups. Colleagues and clients have known him for continual participation in bar and community organizations rather than for short-term or sporadic involvement.
Today, he continues to operate The Lackey Law Office and practices in Alabama and in the Northern District federal court, applying his courtroom experience and community ties to the matters he accepts. His current practice focuses on matters he handles through his firm.
