About Julie A.
Julie A. Nociolo is a partner at E. Stewart Jones Hacker Murphy LLP and an attorney admitted in New York and New Jersey. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the State University of New York College at Geneseo in 2009 and received her Juris Doctor from New York Law School in 2014. Those academic years preceded a quick move into public service roles that shaped her early professional interests.
Upon finishing law school, Nociolo took a position as a Central Staff Lawyer at the New York State Court of Appeals in 2014. The work placed her at the center of appellate procedure. She reviewed briefs, assisted on opinion drafting and gained exposure to issues that cut across civil and criminal practice at the highest state level. That stint at the Court of Appeals provided a foundation she drew on the following year.
In 2015 Nociolo served as a law clerk to the Honorable Gary L. Sharpe of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York. The clerkship introduced her to federal trial practice and the mechanics of district court decision-making. It also added a federal perspective to the appellate experience she had acquired at the state court. Colleagues from that period describe work that required close legal analysis and steady courtroom preparation.
By 2017 she had joined Hacker Murphy, LLP and advanced to partner. At the firm she shifted into private practice while bringing the procedural rigor of her prior roles to client matters. Her background in both the New York State Court of Appeals and a U.S. District Court informs how she approaches litigation strategy, especially when cases may travel between state and federal forums.
Nociolo’s caseload and courtroom responsibilities reflect that mix of appellate and trial experience. She handles legal research, brief writing and motion practice, and she participates in hearings and trial preparation. Her admissions in New York and New Jersey allow her to represent clients in matters arising under both states’ laws and in federal court when matters fall within that jurisdiction.
Outside the courtroom she has remained engaged with the legal community through professional associations. She has continued to build a practice that relies on careful analysis and clear presentation of legal arguments. Nociolo is currently a partner at E. Stewart Jones Hacker Murphy LLP, where she represents clients in state and federal matters in New York and New Jersey.
