About Julianna

Julianna Burrall built a path to law through a mix of literature, finance and formal legal study. She earned a B.A. in English from the University of Florida in 1984, then completed an MBA in Finance at Florida State University's College of Business in 1988. She returned to Florida State for a J.D., awarded in 1991, and later added an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2011.

She began practicing law in the early 1990s and established a solo practice under her own name in 1991. Early work involved the typical demands of a new lawyer: small business matters, contract drafting and client counseling. Those years provided a steady base of transactional experience and an understanding of how legal issues play out for practitioners and business owners.

In 1993 she took a position as Southern Director and Legal Counsel for the National Automatic Merchandising Association. The role placed her at the intersection of trade association work and regulatory compliance. She handled contract issues, advised on state-level regulatory concerns and supported association members on operational matters. It was a role that required practical legal judgment and an ability to communicate complicated regulatory topics to nonlawyers.

By 2007 she had formed JB Tax Law, LLC and continued practicing under that name. The decision to pursue an LL.M. in Taxation in 2011 deepened her technical grounding. That graduate work sharpened the tax aspects of her practice and added a specialized credential for handling tax planning and dispute matters.

She is admitted to practice in Florida and Georgia and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Locally, she has been active in bar groups, including membership in the Cobb County Bar Association since 2007, and has maintained professional connections dating back to the early 1990s. Those ties reflect a career that spans private practice, association counsel and niche tax work.

Her practice blends tax and business law. Clients encounter her on matters that range from transactional tax planning to contract issues for small and mid-sized enterprises. She currently concentrates her practice on tax and business matters.
