About Julian Rivera
Julian Rivera Aspinall began his professional life after earning a bachelor’s degree from High Point University in 1982. That same year he entered military service as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, rising to the rank of captain. He returned to civilian life and pursued law, receiving a J.D. from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico in 1991.
He started his legal career immediately after law school, joining Otero Suro & Otero Suro in 1991. That early period gave him practical courtroom exposure and a grounding in Puerto Rico’s civil practice. In 1996 he moved to Jimenez, Graffam & Lausell, where he continued to handle litigation matters and expanded his experience in federal filings.
A year later he opened his own practice. Since 1997 he has been the owner of RGF LAW FIRM. Running a small firm required shifting between casework and office management. He has overseen pleadings, trial preparation and appearances in territorial and federal courts. He is admitted to practice in Puerto Rico, the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, and the First Circuit.
Outside the courtroom he holds membership in several professional organizations. He is a member of the Puerto Rico Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the Asociacion Europea de Abogados. He is also commissioned as a notary public.
Those affiliations reflect the contours of his work: civil litigation and trial practice in Puerto Rico and in federal venues. Colleagues note that his career follows a steady arc from military service to law school to private practice ownership. He has handled a range of matters that required familiarity with both local court procedures and federal practice.
He divides his time between managing RGF LAW FIRM and representing clients in litigation at the territorial and federal levels. He maintains an active presence in legal associations and continues to accept cases in Puerto Rico and in federal court. His current practice focuses on civil litigation and trial work in Puerto Rico and federal courts.
