About Julian Oscar
Julian Oscar Alvarez earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School in 2022 after completing graduate and undergraduate studies at Stanford University. He finished an M.A. in philosophy in 2019 and previously received a B.S. in 2017. Those consecutive degrees reflect a steady academic path at one institution over more than a decade.
His time at Stanford Law School concluded in 2022. The record shows a concentrated period of study that followed directly from his master’s work in philosophy. The combination of a science-oriented bachelor’s degree and a humanities graduate degree informed his legal training, where coursework and clinic experiences are common parts of the curriculum.
After law school, Alvarez joined Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP as an associate. The firm role places him within a team that handles matters across California. As an associate he contributes to case preparation, research, and courtroom filings. Associates at the firm commonly work on discovery, motion practice, and client communications, and Alvarez’s admission to practice in both state and federal courts supports that kind of work.
Alvarez is admitted to practice in California and is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. Those credentials allow him to appear in state tribunals and in federal matters in the Southern District. Admission to the federal district court suggests he is authorized to handle litigation that proceeds beyond state court boundaries when federal jurisdiction applies.
His professional record is recent. Graduating from law school in 2022 and moving into practice in the years since, Alvarez represents a cohort of newer attorneys who combine advanced academic training with hands-on law firm experience. Within the office he works on client matters overseen by more senior attorneys and takes on increasing responsibility as cases develop.
Colleagues and clients evaluate associate attorneys by the quality of their legal research, their writing, and their capacity to manage procedural tasks. Alvarez’s educational background and current firm position position him to perform those core functions in both trial and transactional contexts.
He represents clients in matters before California state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.
