Julia Ambrose is a partner at Brooks, Pierce, McLendon, Humphrey & Leonard, LLP, in Raleigh, North Carolina. She joined the firm in 2007 and became a partner in 2009. She drafts and negotiates agreements between broadcasters and content providers, such as streaming, affiliation, digital broadcasting, and syndication agreements. She also represents media clients in proceedings before the Federal Communications Commission and provides advocacy on issues like federal indecency standards and television stations' rights under the Copyright Act. Before joining Brooks Pierce, she worked as an associate at a law firm in 2003 and 1996. She also clerked for Judge J — Harvie Wilkinson III in 1994 and for Associate Justice Sandra Day O'Connor in 1995. She has been a member of the District of Columbia Bar, Virginia State Bar, and North Carolina State Bar.

She has been recognized by her peers for inclusion in Business North Carolina’s "Legal Elite" in Appellate Law (2021-2022) and selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© for Appellate Practice (2019-2026), Commercial Litigation (2020-2026).
