About Juan Carlos
Juan Carlos Monteza built his legal foundation across two countries and two law schools. He earned a Bachelor of Laws from the University of San Martin de Porres and later completed a Master of Laws at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York. The combination of an international law degree and graduate study in the United States shapes the way he approaches cases and clients.
His early years in practice are marked by steady advancement. He served as managing lawyer at Musa-Obregon & Associates beginning in 2007. In that role he oversaw day-to-day operations and handled client matters that required both legal judgment and administrative coordination. The position put him in charge of supervising staff, working with co-counsel, and taking responsibility for the outcome of complex files.
In 2019 he opened his own firm, Monteza Law Office P.C. Setting up a practice gave him a new set of responsibilities. He moved from managing within a larger firm to running every part of a small practice. That includes client intake, case strategy, office management and interaction with courts. The owner role has kept him close to client work while asking him to keep an eye on business matters.
Throughout his career he has practiced in New York. That jurisdiction has been the primary arena for his professional work and legal filings.
