About Josiah J

Josiah J Corrigan began his legal education at Regent University School of Law in 2004 and earned his Juris Doctor in 2007. He moved from the classroom into practice equipped with the doctrinal and practical training common to graduates of a program that emphasizes courtroom skills and legal writing. Those years at Regent shaped the baseline of his professional approach: careful preparation, attention to procedure and an eye for appellate argument.

After law school Corrigan established his practice in North Carolina. He is admitted to the North Carolina bar and also holds permission to appear before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. That combination of state and federal appellate admission means much of his work crosses courtroom tiers. He has handled matters that begin in trial courts and progress into appellate briefing and argument, and he is comfortable drafting pleadings intended for both trial judges and appellate panels.

Colleagues describe Corrigan as methodical in case preparation. He breaks complex records into manageable pieces and prioritizes clear legal writing. Those habits serve him whether drafting a trial motion, preparing an interlocutory appeal, or assembling a concise brief for an appellate court. He is known for a measured courtroom manner. He presents legal issues in a straightforward way and relies on precedent and statutory text rather than rhetorical flourish.

His practice at Perry, Perry and Perry places him in a firm environment where multiple generations of lawyers handle a variety of civil matters. At the firm he has participated in litigation that requires coordination among attorneys, experts and clients. He has represented clients in court proceedings across North Carolina and has taken filings to the Fourth Circuit when cases required appellate review. The day-to-day work often involves research, drafting, client counseling and courtroom appearances.

Outside of hearings and filings, Corrigan keeps current on developments in North Carolina law and federal appellate rules. He attends continuing legal education and follows decisions from the Fourth Circuit closely, because those rulings often shape litigation strategy at the state level. He is pragmatic about outcomes and careful with legal timing.

As of 2026 Corrigan practices at Perry, Perry and Perry in North Carolina, handling trial and appellate matters in state courts and appeals in the Fourth Circuit.
