About Joshua W.

Joshua W. Bugeja began his legal journey in Arkansas after completing his formal studies. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in writing with a minor in philosophy from the University of Central Arkansas in 2002. He then went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2006. Before law school, he attended Southside High School.

He entered private practice soon after law school and by 2010 had established his own firm, Bugeja Law Office. That step gave him responsibility for all aspects of running a small practice—case work, client relations and the administrative duties that come with ownership. In 2012 he worked as an associate at Meadors Law Office, gaining experience in a different firm environment. The next year he took on a part-time role as a conflicts lawyer for the Arkansas Public Defender Commission, handling matters that required neutral representation when conflicts arose.

Bugeja’s professional memberships trace a path through local and state organizations. He joined the Arkansas Bar Association in 2010 and maintained membership through 2012. He has been a member of the Sebastian County Bar Association since 2011. Earlier in his career he was also involved with the Arkansas Board of Realtors from 2003 to 2006, a period that coincided with his work related to property matters.

His admissions cover both state and federal courts. He is admitted to practice in Arkansas and has credentials to appear in the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Arkansas. He is also admitted in the Eighth Circuit and to the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court. Those admissions allow him to handle matters that move beyond the state level and into federal trial and appellate venues.

Over the years his portfolio has included public defense work, matters tied to real estate and general litigation in state and federal forums. He has balanced running a small firm with occasional roles in other offices, an approach that has kept him involved in a variety of case types and procedural settings. He currently operates Bugeja Law Office and handles cases in Arkansas and in federal courts, including criminal defense and real estate matters.
