About Joshua H.

Joshua H. Bearce earned his law degree from Boston University School of Law in 2014 after completing undergraduate studies in English and philosophy at Suffolk University in 2011. He spent time in the law school’s research program and gained practical courtroom exposure early on through internships and clerkships at probate and family court settings. Those formative experiences shaped the early arc of a career that moved quickly from clerking to practicing in state and federal courts.

His first paid legal roles came while he was still in law school. In 2011 he worked as a research assistant at Boston University School of Law and served as a legal intern in the Middlesex Probate and Family Court. In 2013 he held law clerk positions at two area firms where he worked on research and case preparation. After graduation he joined the Law Office of Wyckoff Nissenbaum in 2014 and then spent a year at Black, Vitelli & Pennock, LLC, where he handled trial preparation and client-facing work typical of a young associate.

By 2018 he had moved to Devine Millimet as a litigation associate. There he expanded his courtroom experience and took on heavier caseloads in civil litigation. In 2022 he joined Goulston & Storrs, PC as a probate and fiduciary litigation associate. That role brought him deeper into disputes over estates, trust administration, and fiduciary duties. In 2023 he moved to Holland & Knight, LLP, where he continued work in probate and fiduciary litigation.

Bearce is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire. He maintains memberships in several bar organizations, including the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Essex Bar Association and the Boston Bar Association. Those memberships reflect ongoing engagement with regional legal communities and peer networks.

Colleagues describe his practice pattern as litigation-driven. He has handled matters that require contested hearings, motion practice and negotiations among fiduciaries and beneficiaries. His background combines probate-specific disputes and general civil litigation work, so he moves between courtrooms and contested settlement talks with familiarity. The record of successive litigation roles suggests steady work on contested estates and trust matters rather than transactional estate planning.

Today he practices at Holland & Knight, LLP, where he continues to handle probate and fiduciary litigation matters in state and federal courts.
