About Joshua

Joshua Deckard earned his Juris Doctor from the Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University in 2001. He completed his legal education at a time when the profession was shifting rapidly, and those early years shaped a practical approach to the law. He has maintained ties to the South Florida legal community since graduation.

After law school, Deckard moved into active practice in the region. Over the years he has handled matters that required courtroom appearances, client counseling and negotiation. His work has put him in contact with local judges, clerks and fellow attorneys, and he has built a practice grounded in the day-to-day needs of clients rather than in headline litigation.

Deckard holds membership in the Martin County Bar. He participates in the bar’s events and attends local continuing education offerings. Those activities keep him connected to developments in Florida law and to colleagues who practice across many areas.

Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in the office and methodical in court. He approaches cases with preparation and an eye for practical outcomes. That means careful file work, a clear assessment of risk and an emphasis on steady client communication rather than dramatic courtroom tactics. His manner in meetings is straightforward, and clients tend to know what to expect.

Throughout his career Deckard has balanced litigation tasks with transactional work. He handles pleadings, discovery and hearings, and he also prepares agreements and counsels on routine business matters. He has represented individuals and local entities on matters that require both attention to detail and an understanding of how local rules are applied.

Outside of casework, Deckard has continued to engage with the local legal community through bar activities and informal mentorship of younger attorneys. He remains present at bar events and educational seminars, where he follows changes in state and local procedure. Those connections serve both clients and the wider legal community in Martin County.

He currently practices law in Martin County, providing legal services to individuals and local organizations.
