About Josh

Josh Davis has practiced law in Oklahoma for more than two decades. He is an experienced courtroom lawyer who has maintained steady involvement in criminal defense matters since his admission to the bar. His work is grounded in the state's courts and professional organizations that shape criminal practice in Oklahoma.

Davis completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Oklahoma, earning a B.A. in 2002 after beginning his degree in 1998. During his time as an undergraduate he spent a year studying Arthurian literature at King’s College, University of London in 2001. He returned to the University of Oklahoma to earn his J.D. from the College of Law in 2005.

He was admitted to practice in Oklahoma in 2005 and has maintained membership in the Oklahoma Bar Association since that year. He joined the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association in 2011 and became a member of the National College of DUI Defense in 2015. Those affiliations reflect the areas of criminal law and impaired driving defense that have formed the backbone of his practice.

Over the years Davis has handled a range of matters that fall under criminal law, including misdemeanor and felony charges and driving-related offenses. He represents individuals in municipal and state courts across Oklahoma. He is familiar with procedures that govern arrests, pretrial motions, plea negotiations and jury trials, and he regularly appears for hearings on behalf of clients.

Colleagues and clients often find his courtroom approach straightforward. He prepares written motions, argues hearings and works through discovery. He also keeps abreast of changes in state law and procedure that affect criminal defense practice. His membership in focused professional groups provides access to continuing legal education and peer discussion on DUI defense and other criminal issues.

Outside of courtrooms and bar meetings, Davis’s educational background in literature and law shapes a particular attention to detail in legal writing and case analysis. That academic variety contributes to how he reads statutes, interprets case law and crafts arguments for judges and juries.

He continues to practice in Oklahoma and remains an active member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the National College of DUI Defense. He currently concentrates his practice on criminal defense and DUI matters.
