About Joseph Murray
Joseph Murray Leak earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Texas at Austin in 2006. He continued at The University of Texas School of Law and received his J.D. in 2009. Those years in Austin framed his legal training and put him on a path to practice across Texas federal and state courts.
He began his legal career in 2009 at Thompson Coe Cousins & Irons, where he worked as a lawyer. In 2011 he moved to Fleckman & McGlynn, PLLC and spent several years there handling client matters and courtroom work. In 2015 he left to open his own firm, founding Joseph Leak Law Office, PLLC. That step shifted him from firm associate to firm principal and business owner.
Leak holds admission in the State of Texas and in multiple federal districts: the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. Those admissions allow him to file cases and argue motions in courts across the state. He has developed a practice that relies on courtroom procedure and federal and state filing rules.
Colleagues who have crossed paths with him describe a lawyer comfortable in court settings and familiar with federal practice. He has handled matters that required appearances in district courts and pretrial work on written motions. His experience spans the stages that follow complaint filing: discovery, motion practice and hearings. He has maintained practice rights across the principal Texas districts, which shapes the reach of his caseload and the practical work he does for clients. Today he operates Joseph Leak Law Office, PLLC and represents clients in matters before state and federal courts.
