About Joseph C.

Joseph C. Shoemaker began his academic journey in Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of South Florida in 1997. He stayed in-state for law school and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida in 2000. Those years provided the classroom foundation for practice and a practical sense of how law intersects with community safety and procedure.

After law school, Shoemaker moved into a clerkship at McLin & Burnsed, P.A. in 2000. That early experience in a law office gave him exposure to litigation work and courtroom preparation. A few years later he joined Bogin, Munns & Munns, P.A., where he advanced to shareholder in 2004. The transition from clerk to shareholder marks a quick rise into firm leadership and greater responsibility for case strategy and client management.

Before law, Shoemaker served in the United States Marine Corps as an avionics technician in 1986. That technical and military background informs how he approaches problem solving—methodical, exacting and persistent. The years in uniform also contributed early professional discipline that carried over into his legal career.

Shoemaker’s professional affiliations include membership in The Florida Bar and participation in The Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Leesburg Chamber of Commerce from 2010 to 2014. Those roles reflect an interest in both the legal profession and local civic affairs, connecting courtroom work to community institutions.

Throughout his career at Bogin, Munns & Munns, P.A., Shoemaker has handled matters that require courtroom readiness and an understanding of procedural detail. His years as a shareholder involved mentoring younger attorneys, preparing cases for trial and engaging directly with clients. He has maintained an active presence in the firm’s litigation practice and in cases arising under Florida law.

Colleagues describe Shoemaker as pragmatic in court and persistent in case preparation. He prefers clear presentations and careful witness preparation. That practical approach can shape outcomes at critical points, whether in settlements or at trial.

Today he remains based at Bogin, Munns & Munns, P.A., working on civil litigation matters governed by Florida law. His current practice concentrates on trial work and litigation services in the state of Florida.
