About Joseph A. Di
Joseph A. Di Bartolomeo has practiced law in the Pacific Northwest for more than three decades. He built his foundation at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, earning a B.S. in 1987, and then completed his J.D. at Lewis & Clark Law School in 1990. Those early years set the stage for a career rooted in courtroom work and client representation.
He is admitted to practice in Oregon and Washington, and is also admitted to the Ninth Circuit. In 1995 he became a shareholder at Di Bartolomeo Law Office, a small firm presence that has allowed him to handle a range of civil matters. His path has been steady rather than flashy; he has remained active in regional legal circles and maintained a hands-on role in litigation for many years.
Di Bartolomeo’s professional affiliations reflect the kinds of matters he takes on. He has been a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives since 2006. He joined the Washington State Association for Justice in 2003 and has been involved with Oregon Trial Lawyers and the American Association of Justice since 1992. He also holds current memberships in the Oregon State Bar and the Washington State Bar. Those ties point to a practice engaged in plaintiff-side litigation and administrative advocacy.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in the preparation of cases. He tends to emphasize evidence and procedure rather than rhetoric. That approach has led him to focus on hearings, depositions and trials where careful fact development matters. Over the years he has handled matters that require familiarity with federal appellate procedure as well as state-court practice in two jurisdictions.
Di Bartolomeo maintains offices in Astoria and Beaverton, which allow him to serve clients across a wide geographic area of the region. He balances courtroom work with administrative advocacy and the steady business of running a small firm. His professional memberships keep him connected to trends in trial practice and Social Security representation.
He continues to practice from his Astoria and Beaverton offices, representing individuals in civil litigation and Social Security claims.
