About Jose Ignacio
Jose Ignacio Leon earned his J.D. from Florida International University College of Law in 2013. He returned to the same law school later in his career to teach and supervise students in its clinical program. Early academic ties to Miami shape much of his professional life.
He began practicing soon after law school. In 2014 he joined Charles Veres, P.A. as an associate. The next steps in his career included a stint at Mesa & Pepin, LLC in 2016. That same year he launched his own practice, operating as Jose Ignacio Leon, P.A., which also trades as The Florida Estate Planning Law Office.
In 2017 he accepted a role at Florida International University College of Law as a supervising lawyer and adjunct professor in the clinical program. Students in the clinic worked on real matters under his supervision. The role kept him connected to litigation and client counseling while he maintained his private practice.
Two years later he became a partner at Leon & Saltiel, PLLC. The move added a firm partnership to a resume that already included solo practice and academic instruction. His career path shows a mixture of private practice, firm work, and clinical legal education.
His practice areas center on estate planning and related fields. He prepares wills and trusts, advises on durable powers of attorney, and handles probate administration. He also deals with matters common to estate work, such as guardianship and beneficiary designations. The combination of client work and clinic supervision has given him recurring exposure to both transactional planning and court procedures.
Outside the firm, he participated in programs at the Shalom Hartman Institute as a Shalom Hartman Fellow. That fellowship is listed among his professional activities and reflects an engagement with intellectual and community programs beyond routine legal practice.
He is licensed to practice in Florida. His work is concentrated in the state where he built his career and taught law students. Office operations have been centered under the name The Florida Estate Planning Law Office, where he continues to serve clients.
Today he divides his time between client matters and the administrative duties of running a small practice. He continues to handle estate planning, probate administration, and related legal issues in Florida.
