About Jorie K.
Jorie K. Johnson earned her J.D. from The John Marshall Law School in 2005. She completed her legal education in Chicago and moved into practical court work soon after. Early placements gave her direct exposure to courtroom procedure and trial preparation.
In 2006 she served as a judicial extern in the 4th Municipal District of the Circuit Court of Cook County. The following year she worked as a 711 licensed law clerk in the Office of the State's Attorney for Cook County, assigned to the Criminal Prosecution Bureau, Felony Trials Division. There she assisted on felony matters, prepared legal research and trial materials, and observed jury practice at the trial level.
Johnson spent time in nonprofit practice as well. In 2009 she volunteered with Cabrini Green Legal Aid, where she provided pro bono assistance and helped guide clients through intake and casework. That experience added a public-interest dimension to the courtroom training she had gained in Cook County.
She opened The Law Office of Jorie K. Johnson in 2010 and has practiced there since. Her professional memberships trace a steady commitment to local and national bar activity. She has been a member of the American Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association since 2005, and joined the Chicago Bar Association in the same year. She is also active in the West Suburban Bar Association and the Women’s Criminal Defense Bar Association, memberships she has held since 2010.
Across those roles, Johnson has built practical experience in criminal law and litigation. Her background includes work on felony prosecutions, courtroom procedure, legal research, and client intake in both public-interest and private-practice settings. She maintains a trial-ready approach in her law office and regularly handles criminal matters and related litigation in Illinois.
