About Jorge L
Jorge L Mendin pursued legal training on the island and on the mainland. He earned a J.D. in business law from the Universidad de Puerto Rico Escuela de Derecho in 1975. He then completed an LL.M. in taxation at the University of Florida in 1976. Those two degrees framed the direction of his professional life: law grounded in Puerto Rican institutions and advanced tax study from a U.S. law school.
He began practicing law in Puerto Rico after finishing his graduate work. Over the years he developed a practice shaped by tax questions and business matters. He is currently a member of the law firm Mendin Marin, based in Puerto Rico. At the firm he continues to handle tax and business law matters, providing counseling on planning and compliance and representing clients in related disputes and transactions. He remains active in practice at Mendin Marin, working on tax and business law matters in Puerto Rico.
