About Jorge L.

Jorge L. Hernandez has built a steady legal career centered in the Mid-Atlantic. He completed his undergraduate studies at Rutgers University–Newark in 1990 and earned his law degree from Rutgers School of Law–Newark in 1993. Those years in Newark shaped his approach to practice: methodical, grounded in precedent, and mindful of the communities he serves.

After law school he moved into courtroom practice. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and he has authority to appear before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Over time he has handled matters in both state and federal courts. Colleagues describe him as precise in pleadings and firm at the lectern. He favors clear argument and careful preparation over theatrical displays.

Hernandez participates in professional organizations that reflect his professional interests and connections. He holds membership in the New Jersey State Bar and the New Jersey Association for Justice. He is also a member of the Justice James Coleman, Jr. American Inns of Court. These affiliations keep him engaged with developments in trial practice, appellate procedure, and ethics.

His courtroom work spans trials and appeals. He has managed litigation from case intake through written motions and oral argument. While he handles a range of disputes, much of his work involves contested matters that require sustained litigation strategy. He prepares for hearings with attention to both legal detail and practical consequences for clients.

Outside the courtroom he has maintained ties to legal education and peer groups. He participates in local continuing legal education programs and has contributed to discussions on trial techniques and appellate briefing. He mentors younger lawyers and often offers practical advice about courtroom procedure and client advocacy. Those who have worked with him cite his steady demeanor and practical approach to problem solving.

Today he continues to practice law in the region, representing clients in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and arguing matters in federal court where appropriate. His current practice focuses on litigation in state and federal forums, including appellate work in the Third Circuit.
