About Jonathan

Jonathan Weetman combines business training and legal education in a career centered on counsel and dispute resolution. He earned a B.S. from the University of Maryland, College Park, followed by a J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. He later added an MBA from Loyola College. That mix of degrees shaped an approach that balances transactional thinking and legal analysis.

After law school Mr. Weetman built his practice in Maryland. He is admitted to practice in the state and participates in its legal community. Over the years he has worked in private practice and maintained ties to local bar organizations. He holds a Certificate of Mediation from MICPEL/C-DRUM, a credential that broadened his options for clients and expanded the services he offers beyond courtroom advocacy.

Mediation figures importantly in his work. The MICPEL/C-DRUM certification equips him to guide parties through structured settlement processes. He conducts mediations and prepares clients for alternative dispute resolution, handling both the procedural and interpersonal elements that shape outcomes. That training sits alongside more traditional legal tasks — drafting documents, advising on strategy and representing clients when matters proceed to litigation.

His professional memberships include the Maryland State Bar Association and The Bar Association of Carroll County, where he holds an associate membership. Those affiliations keep him connected to developments in state law and provide access to continuing education. He participates in events and resources that inform daily practice and help him stay current on procedural changes and local court practices.

Mr. Weetman operates from Jonathan C Weetman, Lawyer at Law, LLC. He runs a practice that serves individuals and organizations across Maryland. The office handles client intake, counseling and case management and offers mediation services as an alternative to contested proceedings. He balances client-facing work with the administrative duties of running a small firm.

Outside the office he has shown an interest in combining legal problem solving with business perspectives learned in his MBA program. That background often informs how he advises clients on risk, cost and timing. He currently concentrates his practice on advising and representing clients in Maryland and providing mediation services.
