About Jonathan T.

Jonathan T. Wren attended Haverford College in Pennsylvania where he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree before moving on to the University of Virginia School of Law for his Juris Doctor. The combination of a liberal arts background and a Virginia legal education set the stage for a practice rooted in courtroom work and litigation.

He began his professional legal career in the 1990s and by 1996 was a shareholder at Martin & Raynor, P.C. That role placed him in the thick of civil litigation matters and gave him early responsibility for case strategy and client representation. In 2009 he became a shareholder at MartinWren, P.C., continuing his practice under the firm's name and maintaining a presence in Virginia's trial community.

Wren's day-to-day work has been shaped by litigation practice. He is a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice, organizations that connect trial lawyers across the country. He also participates in the Litigation Section of the Virginia State Bar, and is involved locally through the Charlottesville Albemarle Bar Association. He is affiliated with the Thomas Jefferson Inn of Court, which brings judges and lawyers together for professional development and mentorship.

Colleagues describe Wren as a lawyer who prefers preparation and practical courtroom experience to rhetoric. He has handled civil disputes that required hearings, motions practice and trials. His roles as shareholder in two iterations of his firm reflect steady responsibility for both client work and the operational side of a law practice. He has worked out of the firm's Harrisonburg office as well as other firm locations over the years.

Today he practices in Virginia, where he continues to represent clients in civil litigation. His current practice concentrates on trial work and courtroom advocacy in state courts across the region.
