About Jonathan
Jonathan Roffe trained first as a scientist before turning to law. He earned a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2010, then completed his J.D. at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2014. The move from a Midwestern public university to a New York law school set the stage for a practice that spans state lines.
After law school Roffe began building experience in firm settings. By 2019 he was on the roster at Smith, Gambrell & Russell LLP, where he worked as a lawyer and handled matters assigned to him by the firm. That role gave him experience in the day-to-day demands of a full-service law practice and exposure to a range of client needs.
In 2022 he joined Clark Hill PLC as a senior lawyer. The change reflected steady professional progression and a shift into a larger platform. At Clark Hill he has taken on more responsibility for supervising matters and contributing to team-based work across offices.
Roffe is admitted to practice in both New York and Michigan. He maintains professional memberships and has kept at least one such affiliation since 2014. Those connections place him in networks that span the two jurisdictions where he is licensed.
Colleagues describe him as pragmatic and workmanlike in approach. He favors clear, direct communication when managing assignments and when interacting with clients. That practical style matches the kinds of responsibilities he has held: overseeing matters, coordinating with colleagues, and attending to legal tasks that require steady attention to detail.
Outside of the office Roffe’s background includes a Midwestern undergraduate education and several years practicing in urban law firms. That mix of regional perspectives informs how he approaches problems and client service. He is based at Clark Hill PLC and spends his time on matters arising in the firm’s practice areas and for clients in both Michigan and New York.
He currently serves as a senior lawyer at Clark Hill PLC, handling matters for clients in Michigan and New York.
