About Jonathan P.

Jonathan P. Fly combined a study of movement and performance with an interest in visual storytelling long before he entered law school. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in dance from Hope College in 1995 and completed a professional certificate in film and television at Sheridan College of Arts and Emerging Technologies in 2000. He went on to receive his J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2004. Those early years in the arts have remained part of his professional identity.

After law school he established his practice in California, where he is admitted to the bar. He joined local legal circles soon after, taking membership in the Long Beach Bar Association in 2007 and becoming part of the Ball Hunt Inn of Court in 2008. Those affiliations have kept him connected to courtroom practice and to peers in the region.

His career has been shaped by a mix of artistic training and legal education. Dance taught him how to read an audience and to communicate through posture and pace. Film and television studies introduced him to storytelling, visual detail and production realities. In the courtroom and at the negotiating table those skills translate into attention to narrative, timing and presentation. Colleagues say he brings a steady manner to hearings and client meetings, and that he can make technical subjects accessible for nonlawyers.

Jonathan has worked at Allmeroth, Garner and Fly, where he is part of a small team handling client matters from the firm’s California office. His work there involves advising clients, preparing filings and appearing in hearings when appropriate. He has kept an active role in bar activities and the Inn of Court, participating in programs and continuing legal education that reflect the practice needs of the community.

Outside of casework he continues to follow developments in visual media and performance. He occasionally speaks about the intersection of creative industries and the law, drawing on his earlier studies in film and performance. He lives and practices in California and maintains an active presence in local legal organizations.

He practices law in California at Allmeroth, Garner and Fly and continues to handle matters on behalf of clients from the firm’s office.
