About Jonathan

Jonathan Gracia began his academic path at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science in 2000. He went on to the University of Texas at Austin and earned his J.D. in 2006. Before finishing law school he was named a fellow of the Council on Legal Education Opportunity in 2004, an early mark of his involvement in legal education programs.

After law school Gracia built a practice in Texas. He joined local professional networks and has been active in bar-related projects since 2008. That year he began work with the Cameron County Bar Association Pro Bono Project, taking on volunteer matters and helping expand access to legal services in his community. He also maintains memberships in other local and regional organizations that connect lawyers to civic projects.

Gracia’s civic involvement has been steady. He served as chairman of the Brownsville Public Improvement District Committee from 2010 to 2011, a role that placed him at the intersection of municipal planning and public policy. Since 2013 he has been part of the Brownsville Convention & Visitors Bureau, where he contributes to planning efforts that affect economic development and local events. These roles have kept him engaged with public-sector leaders and community stakeholders beyond the courtroom.

Professionally, Gracia balances client work and community service. He has handled pro bono matters through the Cameron County Bar Association and taken on other volunteer legal projects. He also participates in professional associations that provide continuing education and networking for attorneys in the region. His career shows a pattern of combining private practice with public-minded roles, especially in the Rio Grande Valley area.

Gracia operates The Gracia Law Office, where he represents clients across Texas. He continues to take on pro bono matters while serving on local committees and boards. He is active in the Brownsville community and maintains practice based in the state of Texas. He represents clients and handles a variety of legal matters in Texas as part of his current work.
