About Jonathan E.
Jonathan E. Bleyer earned his law degree from South Texas College of Law in 2011 after completing a bachelor’s degree in Radio and Television at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2004. His undergraduate studies preceded his decision to pursue law and provided an early grounding in communication and presentation. He moved from the Midwest to Texas to begin his legal career and completed his formal legal training in Houston.
He began practicing as a trial lawyer in 2012 at Bleyer & Bleyer, an early posting that put him directly in courtroom settings. Two years later he joined Mukerji Law Office PC as a partner in 2014, a role that expanded his responsibilities to include case development and firm management. In 2023 he took a senior trial position at J.D. Silva & Associates, where he continued work on contested matters and trial preparation.
Bleyer is licensed to practice in Texas. He maintains memberships in several professional organizations, including the Houston Trial Lawyers Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Houston Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He also retains membership in the Illinois State Bar Association. Those affiliations reflect an ongoing engagement with professional networks in both Texas and Illinois.
Throughout his career he has concentrated on trial work and courtroom advocacy. Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who spends much of his time preparing cases for trial, conducting motion practice and handling evidentiary issues. His practice history shows a pattern of hands-on litigation roles rather than transactional work, and his positions have consistently placed him on the front lines of contested cases.
His background in radio and television is an uncommon prelude to a litigation career. It supplied early training in speaking and presentation that can be useful under pressure in court. Over time he has balanced those communication skills with the procedural and evidentiary demands that come with trying cases in state courts.
He is based at J.D. Silva & Associates, PLLC, where he joined the firm as a senior trial lawyer in 2023. He currently focuses on trial litigation in Texas at J.D. Silva & Associates, PLLC.
