About Jonathan Andrew
Jonathan Andrew Hassell earned his Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law in 2013. He completed law school after starting there in 2010 and entered the legal profession soon after. His academic record led directly into practical work, beginning as a law clerk while he finished his degree.
Hassell began his legal career at Moffett Law Office, where he served as a law clerk in 2011 and became an associate lawyer in 2013. Those early years gave him day-to-day courtroom exposure and hands-on experience managing client files. In 2020 he joined Walters Gilbreath, PLLC as an associate, expanding his practice and taking on a broader caseload.
In 2023 Hassell opened Hassell Family Law, PLLC. The move placed him in the role of founder and principal attorney. He leads a small practice that handles family law matters, representing clients in divorce and related proceedings and in other family court matters. He handles client counseling, negotiation, and litigation as the needs of each case require.
Hassell is active in professional circles. He has been a member of the American Bar Association since 2013 and has maintained memberships in both the Harris County Bar Association and the Montgomery County Bar Association since the same year. Those memberships have kept him connected to developments in state law and regional court practices.
Colleagues describe Hassell as methodical in his preparation and direct in court. He is known for steady courtroom presence and for breaking down complex legal issues into clear terms for clients. He approaches casework with attention to procedural detail and keeps pace with evolving family law statutes and local rules.
Hassell lives and practices in Texas, where he represents individuals and families in matters that require both negotiation and, when necessary, court advocacy. He balances in-court work with efforts to settle matters outside a trial setting when that is in a client’s interest. He continues to develop his practice at Hassell Family Law, PLLC and manages a caseload that reflects the firm’s family law orientation.
He currently concentrates his practice at Hassell Family Law, PLLC on family law matters and related court proceedings.
