About Jonathan A.
Jonathan A. Baner earned his law degree from Michigan State University College of Law, completing his J.D. in 2010. He entered the legal profession soon afterward and has spent the bulk of his career practicing in Washington. His education provided a foundation for work that has combined firm practice and targeted roles at specialty shops.
He began practicing at Baner and Baner Law Office in 2011. That early period shaped his approach to client work and courtroom procedure. Over time he moved between roles, returning to firm-based practice while taking on positions outside the traditional law office environment.
In 2021 he took a post at Garnishment Gurus. That role placed him in an environment focused on debt collection and related court processes. He handled matters that required close attention to procedural detail and statutory timelines. The move illustrated a willingness to work in different legal settings and to address practical problems that affect individuals’ finances.
Baner has maintained an active connection to professional groups since 2011. He has participated in association activities and stayed current with developments in the Washington bar. That steady engagement has accompanied his work in both private practice and in more specialized legal roles.
His practice history spans firm work and specialized legal services. He has experience in matters that arise in state courts and in contexts where creditors and debtors interact. Colleagues and clients describe him as methodical in case preparation and persistent in pursuing procedural remedies when they are available.
He returned to Baner & Baner and continues to operate out of that office. His day-to-day work involves client counseling, drafting and responding to pleadings, and appearing in court when litigation requires it. He balances casework with the administrative and client-service duties that running a small office entails.
He currently handles consumer debt matters, garnishment defense and related civil litigation in Washington.
