About Jon E.
Jon E. Jessen built his path to the bar through two northeastern schools that shaped his early interest in law. He earned a B.S. in 1987 from Northeastern University's College of Criminal Justice, where he studied pre-law. He continued his legal education at Quinnipiac University School of Law and received his Juris Doctor in 1990. Those years framed his approach to legal work and prepared him for a long career in practice.
After law school he moved into practice and has worked as a lawyer for more than three decades. He has handled client matters across a variety of settings. Over time he has seen the contours of many disputes and transactions, and he has navigated the procedural and factual issues that arise in day-to-day legal work.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in his preparation and careful in his advice. He has balanced courtroom responsibilities when needed with written advocacy, client counseling, and case management. His background in criminal justice and later legal training at Quinnipiac inform the way he assesses risk and prepares strategy, giving him two different vantage points on problems that come through his door.
Jessen's career has included representation of both individual clients and business entities. He has worked on matters that required negotiation as well as those that moved toward formal dispute resolution. He has also handled transactional matters that required attention to detail and an eye for procedural deadlines. Over the years he has adapted to changes in practice, including shifts in litigation technology and filing protocols.
Outside the office he has maintained ties to the legal community through professional events and continuing education. He stays current on statutory and procedural developments that affect his clients. He also mentors younger lawyers who cross his path, offering practical advice about courtroom preparation and client communication.
Today he continues to accept client matters and provide legal counsel. He maintains an active practice and handles a range of legal issues for the clients he represents, drawing on more than thirty years of experience and his dual background in criminal justice and law.
