About Jon A.

Jon A. Schiffrin built his professional foundation on two very different campuses. He earned a Bachelor of Science in 1988 from the University of Florida, studying advertising. Eight years later he added a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami.

His undergraduate studies left an imprint on how he approaches legal problems. Advertising taught him to think about messages, audiences and the commercial pressures that shape business decisions. Those instincts surface in how he evaluates disputes and counsel clients about the practical stakes behind legal questions.

After receiving his law degree in 1996, Schiffrin moved into the practice of law. He spent the early years of his career learning the mechanics of litigation and transactional work. He handled document-heavy matters, negotiated agreements and dealt with the day-to-day tasks that keep a legal matter moving forward.

Over time he developed an interest in matters that sit at the crossroads of commerce and communication.
