About John
John Wu earned both a Juris Doctor and a Master of Business Administration in 2021, completing his legal studies at Osgoode Hall Law School and his MBA at the Schulich School of Business that same year. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Western University, awarded in 2015, where he studied biology and philosophy. The combination of science, liberal arts and formal business training informs his approach to legal problems.
After finishing his studies, Wu moved to New York. He became a member of the State Bar of New York in 2023 and is currently licensed there. That move put him in a city where business law and transactional practice are central, and his academic background in both law and business offered practical preparation for that environment.
Wu joined Apex Corporate Law after his admission to the New York bar. At the firm he works on corporate matters for a range of clients. His work includes transactional documentation, corporate governance issues and contract drafting and review. He also handles aspects of regulatory compliance that commonly arise for corporate clients doing business under New York law.
Colleagues describe him as methodical. He approaches problems by breaking them down into legal, commercial and factual components. That analytical method reflects his earlier study of biology and philosophy, disciplines that emphasize careful reasoning and attention to detail. His MBA training contributes an understanding of commercial priorities and the financial implications of legal choices.
Wu’s practice involves both short-term deal work and longer-term corporate advising. He prepares and negotiates agreements, assists boards and management with governance questions, and advises on routine compliance matters. He adapts written work to the needs of business clients, keeping documents practical and focused on the transaction at hand.
Outside of his firm duties, he retains a membership in the State Bar of New York, which he has held since 2023. He maintains professional ties in both legal and business circles that reflect his dual training. He currently practices corporate law at Apex Corporate Law.
