About John
John Siegner graduated from the University of Richmond School of Law in 2013. He finished law school at a time when the legal market was shifting. He took that moment to move quickly into roles that tested courtroom skills and insurance-defense experience.
His first position after law school was as an associate at Powell Law Group, P.C., in 2014. He moved to an in-house role at Geico the following year, serving as staff counsel in 2015. That stint gave him exposure to claims handling and internal defense processes. In 2016 he returned to private practice as an associate at O’Hagan Meyer, PLLC. Two years later he accepted a trial lawyer position at Allen, Allen, Allen & Alen in 2018.
Siegner’s résumé is straightforward and sequential. Each stop added to his courtroom preparation. The move from staff counsel back into firm work is notable for the change in pace and responsibilities. At firms he handled case development and litigation tasks. At an insurer he worked on the company side of claims resolution and defense strategy.
Outside his day-to-day work he belongs to professional groups in the Richmond area. He holds current membership in the Asian Pacific American Bar Association and the Richmond Chapter of the Richmond Bar Association. Those ties have kept him plugged into local practice trends and peer networks.
Those who have worked with Siegner describe him as methodical in court preparation. He favors clear factual narratives and prefers to get details settled early. He has experience preparing cases for trial and has appeared in contested proceedings. Over time he has balanced the demands of litigation with the procedural discipline required by insurance defense and firm practice.
Siegner’s path is marked by steady progression rather than headline-making cases. He built skill through successive roles that required different perspectives on disputes and liability. That variety afforded him a practical sense of how litigation is handled both inside an insurer’s legal department and in private practice.
He currently concentrates his practice on trial litigation and related matters.
