About John S.
John S. Stobaugh built his path to the law through two different classrooms. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics and Economics from Texas A&M University in 2010. Three years later he completed a Juris Doctor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2013. Those degrees sit at the foundation of his approach to legal problems.
Stobaugh’s undergraduate training grounded him in market analysis and the economic forces that shape regulated industries. Law school added doctrinal study and courtroom skills. The combination informs how he evaluates transactions and disputes. It also gives him a practical perspective when technical economic issues arise in litigation.
He is admitted to practice in Arkansas and is authorized to appear before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He maintains an active membership in the State Bar of Arkansas. Those credentials mean he moves between state trial dockets and federal appellate briefs in the region that covers Arkansas and neighboring jurisdictions.
At work, Stobaugh has developed experience handling matters that call for clear legal reasoning and an understanding of economic context. He drafts pleadings, prepares briefs, and appears in court when required. His background makes him comfortable engaging technical evidence and expert testimony when cases hinge on economic analysis.
Stobaugh is an attorney at Wood, Schnipper & Britton. At the firm he collaborates with colleagues on client matters and contributes to the preparation of appeals and trial work. Colleagues describe him as methodical; he is often tasked with organizing the factual record and translating complex economic details into coherent arguments for judges and juries.
Outside the courtroom he follows developments in state and federal procedure and keeps abreast of legal issues that affect business and agricultural clients. He participates in professional activities through his State Bar membership and remains active in the legal community. He focuses his practice on representing clients in matters arising in Arkansas courts and before the Eighth Circuit.
