About John R.
John R. Martynyszyn studied management and strategic leadership before turning to the law. He earned a B.B.A. from Ohio University in 2019 and completed his J.D. at Capital University Law School in 2022. His academic path combined business training with legal study, and it set the stage for early courtroom and government experience.
While still in law school, he served as a judicial extern to Justice Sharon Kennedy at The Supreme Court of Ohio in 2021. That placement exposed him to the inner workings of the state’s highest court and to the procedural rigor required on appellate matters. He returned to public service in 2022 as an extern at the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, working alongside state lawyers on issues that affect government clients.
After graduation, Martynyszyn joined Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell, Ltd. as an associate lawyer in 2022. He moved into private practice quickly. At the firm he has handled matters that require coordinating legal strategy across state lines. His work there builds on the procedural and analytical skills he developed during his externships.
Martynyszyn is admitted to practice in both Ohio and Florida. That dual jurisdictional standing allows him to address client needs that cross state boundaries. He has worked on matters under the oversight of judges and state attorneys, and he applies those experiences to the cases he takes at the firm.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in his approach to research and responsive in client communications. He has taken part in filings at the trial and appellate levels and in collaborative work with other attorneys at his firm.
