About John
John Miller earned his law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles in 1989, after completing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1986. Those years framed the entry point to a long career in California courts. He has remained active in the state's legal community for decades and continues to work in both adjudicative and advocacy roles.
Miller's courtroom experience extends beyond advocacy. He serves as a judge pro tem in both Sacramento County Superior Courts and El Dorado County Superior Courts. In Sacramento County he has also taken on temporary assignments as a small claims court judge and functions as a mediator for matters heard in the Superior Court. Those roles put him on both sides of the bench. They have given him practical familiarity with the procedures judges use and the pressures litigants face in court.
His professional affiliations reflect a range of interests within civil practice. He is a member of Consumer Lawyers of California and holds membership in the Sacramento County Bar Association. At the state level he participates in the State Bar of California’s Business Law and Litigation sections. He remains current on local court practice through his ongoing ties to the El Dorado County Court where he continues to serve as Judge Pro Tem.
Colleagues describe Miller as pragmatic in handling disputes. He has moved between roles that require formal rulings and those that seek negotiated outcomes. Acting as a mediator in Sacramento County Superior Courts has added a settlement perspective to his litigation work. Serving as a temporary judge in small claims matters has required concise decision-making and an ability to explain rulings clearly to nonlawyers. Those experiences shape how he prepares for hearings and trials.
Miller practices out of Miller Injury Lawyers, where he applies his courtroom and judicial experience to client matters. He draws on years of service in California courts and ongoing bar involvement when advising clients and negotiating resolutions. He is licensed to practice in California and continues to serve in pro tem judicial and mediation capacities while maintaining his private practice. He currently practices at Miller Injury Lawyers, concentrating on injury and civil litigation.
