About John

John Meyer earned his bachelor's degree in political science and art history from Hamline University, completing the program in 2008. He returned to Minnesota law education at William Mitchell College of Law, where he received his J.D. in 2016 and completed a Law and Business Certificate. Those academic strands — politics, humanities and business-informed legal training — form the background for his legal approach.

After law school, Meyer established his practice in Minnesota. He is licensed to practice in the state and has worked with a range of clients under the banner of his own firm. His trajectory reflects a move from classroom learning to hands-on practice in a regional legal market.

Meyer’s training in both law and business shapes how he evaluates problems. He combines doctrinal legal study with an eye for the commercial dimensions of disputes and transactions. That combination informs how he assesses risk, drafts agreements and advises clients on practical next steps. His dual undergraduate studies in political science and art history contribute analytical and contextual perspectives that he brings to case planning.

He maintains current professional memberships and participates in the legal community. Meyer attends local events and engages with peers on matters of practice management and substantive law. He has kept active in forums that allow him to track changes in state rules and procedural developments relevant to his clients.

Meyer practices through Meyer Law PLLC. At the firm he manages client intake, coordinates case work and oversees day-to-day operations. The small-firm setting allows him to handle matters personally while drawing on outside resources when cases require specialized expertise.

He continues to live and practice in Minnesota, applying his academic background and practical experience to the needs of individuals and organizations. He currently practices at Meyer Law PLLC, representing clients in Minnesota on matters that draw on his law and business training.
