About John

John Gatzke took a straightforward path into law. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point in 2007, then completed his J.D. at Marquette University Law School in 2012. Those years shaped his legal foundation. They also placed him in Milwaukee’s legal culture at a moment when courtroom skills and practical training mattered to young lawyers entering practice.

He moved quickly into private practice. In 2013 he became a partner at Gatzke & McFadden Law Offices. The record shows that he has held that role since then. As a partner he has handled the responsibilities that come with firm leadership and client work. He has been involved in the day-to-day operations of a trial-oriented practice and in overseeing case preparation and litigation strategy.

Gatzke’s professional memberships reflect a courtroom orientation. He maintains active memberships in the Wisconsin Trial Lawyers Association and the Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers. He is also a member of the Waukesha County Bar Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin. Those organizations offered him access to continuing education, peer networking and forums on trial procedure and civil litigation trends. He appears in lists of attorneys associated with trial-focused groups, which signals a practice shaped by courtroom advocacy.

Colleagues describe his work as methodical and exacting in preparation. He emphasizes factual development and witness preparation rather than theatrical courtroom tactics. In filings and hearings he tends to favor clear arguments supported by documentary evidence and careful factual narratives. That approach is consistent with the profile of an attorney who spends time in courtrooms and in the routine motion practice that precedes trial.

Outside of formal memberships he has contributed time to local bar activities and to events where trial practice techniques are discussed. Those engagements have kept him connected to peers in Waukesha County and across Wisconsin. They have also provided a steady flow of updates on case law and procedural changes that affect litigation practice.

Today he continues as a partner at Gatzke & McFadden Law Offices. He practices in areas that involve courtroom advocacy and litigation, and his current work centers on representing clients through trial preparation and courtroom proceedings.
