About John F.

John F. Jakuback built a legal foundation in Texas and Louisiana that begins in the classroom and extends into boardrooms and courtrooms. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Dallas in 1987 and earned his J.D. from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 1992. Those years set the framework for a practice that crosses state lines and community lines alike.

He joined Kean Miller LLP and rose to the partnership. At the firm he handles matters that require an understanding of both Texas and Louisiana law. Colleagues describe him as steady and practical in handling complex problems. He works on litigation and client counseling, often where state law and local practice intersect.

Jakuback's day-to-day practice dovetails with active bar participation. He holds memberships in the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar, the Baton Rouge Bar Association and the Texas State Bar. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, which keeps him connected to trends and developments in defense litigation across the state.

Community service is a consistent part of his public life. He sits on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Greater Baton Rouge and Acadiana, and teaches the Junior Achievement Program at St. Jude the Apostle School. He leads as president of ARC - Baton Rouge, an organization supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Those roles take him into classrooms and community meetings as often as they bring him to the courthouse.

Beyond those formal roles, he participates in civic and cultural organizations. He maintains membership in the Baton Rouge Symphony Young Patrons Organization, serves on the Service Committee for St. Jude The Apostle Athletic Association, and participates on the Pro Bono Committee of the Baton Rouge Bar Association. He is also involved with the St. Joseph's Academy School Board.

Jakuback blends professional practice with civic engagement. That balance informs how he approaches client work and public duties. He has continued to practice through changes in the legal landscape and remains an active member of the bar in both jurisdictions.

He currently practices as a partner at Kean Miller LLP and continues to represent clients in matters filed in Texas and Louisiana, while maintaining an active role in community and bar organizations. His current practice focuses on litigation and client counseling across the two states.
