About John
John Edwards earned his J.D. from Florida State University College of Law. He built his early résumé in and around Tallahassee, combining classroom study with hands-on work inside state government and legislative offices. The law school credential anchored a steady sequence of internships and clerkships that shaped his entry into practice.
While still a student and in the years that followed, Edwards worked as a legislative intern for the Florida House of Representatives in 2012. He later spent time at the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles in 2014 and worked as a legislative intern for Southern Strategy Group Florida in 2015. Those positions exposed him to legislative processes and regulatory work at the state level.
Edwards moved into traditional law office roles after graduation. In 2016 he served as a law clerk at Morgan & Morgan, P.A., where he gained exposure to litigation support and case preparation. The following year he was a law clerk at Steinberg Law. In 2018 he joined Kanner & Pintaluga initially as a law clerk and later that same year transitioned into a lawyer role at the firm. The sequence shows a quick shift from support roles into active practice.
His trajectory at Kanner & Pintaluga continued upward. In 2021 he became a partner at the firm. Colleagues describe his rise as steady and practical: he moved through predictable stages—clerk, lawyer, partner—while remaining in the Florida legal market. That continuity has kept his work closely tied to state rules and state courts.
Edwards’s background combines legislative internships, agency work, and multiple clerkships. Those experiences inform how he approaches matters at the firm. He has worked inside government offices and inside litigation teams. The mix gives him a sense of both policy mechanics and courtroom preparation, and it shapes how he evaluates issues for clients.
He is currently a partner at Kanner & Pintaluga and practices law in Florida. His present practice is based at the firm’s offices, where he represents clients in matters across the state.
