About John E.
John E. Richmond built a career that began in the classroom and moved quickly into the courtroom. He studied at Miami University of Ohio before earning his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. Those formative years set out the path he would follow through multiple state bars and a private practice.
After law school, Richmond gained admissions to practice in New Jersey, New York and Colorado. He practices as a lawyer at Richmond Vona, LLC, where he has handled matters spanning the three jurisdictions where he is licensed. His training includes a Certificate of Completion from the Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation — the Harvard Negotiation Intensive — a short professional program that complements courtroom experience with formal negotiation techniques.
Richmond’s professional life is organized around trial work and the institutions that support trial lawyers. He holds memberships in the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. He is also a member of the Litigation Counsel of America, a trial lawyer honorary society. Locally, he has been listed as a member of the Erie County Bar Association since 2015. He maintains active membership in the New York State Bar Association, the State Bar of Colorado and the State Bar of New Jersey, and is recorded as having membership in the State Bar of New York.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in courtroom preparation and measured in negotiations. He combines formal negotiation training with hands-on trial experience. That mix underpins his approach at Richmond Vona, LLC, where cases require both careful pretrial work and readiness to try matters when necessary.
Outside the courtroom, Richmond has engaged with bar groups that focus on trial practice and professional standards. Those memberships have provided regular contact with peers across state lines and with organizations devoted to the craft of advocacy. They also put him in settings where trial techniques and case strategy are routinely exchanged and tested.
Today he practices from Richmond Vona, LLC and handles matters in Colorado, New York and New Jersey. His current practice centers on litigation matters across those jurisdictions.
