About John Brendan
John Brendan Kidd earned his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University in 2005, double-majoring in history and political science. He went on to law school at Gonzaga University School of Law and received his J.D. in 2008. Those academic years shaped both his approach to litigation and his familiarity with legal research and courtroom procedure.
After law school he began practicing in Washington, where he is licensed to practice. Early in his career he developed courtroom experience and learned to handle the practical demands of trial work. He has maintained active participation in professional circles and holds current memberships in legal associations in the region.
Kidd’s work has centered on defense-oriented practice. He launched his own firm to apply courtroom skills directly on behalf of clients. At the same time, he has stayed involved with peers through association memberships and professional development activities that keep him connected to changes in state law and procedure.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparation and direct during hearings. He balances a practice that requires close attention to fact patterns with an ability to distill complex legal issues into points a judge or jury can follow. That mix of written advocacy and oral argument has defined much of his work since leaving law school.
Kidd Defense PLLC is his current office. He manages the firm’s caseload and works directly with clients to evaluate options, prepare defenses and present arguments in court. The firm’s name reflects the type of work it accepts and the priorities he sets for his practice. He handles matters that arise under Washington law and appears in state proceedings as part of his regular work.
Outside the courtroom he continues to engage with the legal community. He participates in continuing legal education and remains involved in association activities that address practice developments and procedural changes. His practice at Kidd Defense PLLC remains focused on representing clients in defense matters within Washington, where he maintains his office and conducts the bulk of his work.
