About John

John Barron combined business study and law early in his career. He earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1995. He returned to school later and completed a joint M.B.A. and J.D. at Louisiana State University in 2011.

After law school he took a traditional path into private practice. In 2011 he joined Jeansonne & Remondet as associate counsel, where he handled matters appropriate to a first-level attorney in a regional firm. That role gave him courtroom exposure and a foundation in client counseling that he would draw on in later positions.

In 2014 Barron moved into industry as technical manager and in-house counsel for Bulldog Chemicals, LLC. The post brought together his finance training and legal education. He navigated company operations, contract matters, and internal compliance challenges while working alongside technical and executive teams.

Three years later he returned to private practice and an outside-counsel role. In 2017 he became of counsel at O Pry Law Office, a position that allowed him to maintain ties to both corporate and litigation work. Around the same time he increased his involvement in local legal institutions. He joined the board of the Lafayette Bar Association in 2017 and began serving the Duhe Inn of Court in a leadership capacity; he has held the presidency of that Inn since 2018. He has also maintained membership in professional groups since 2011.

Barron is admitted to practice in Louisiana and in several federal forums. He appears in filings before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and in the U.S. District Courts for the Western, Middle, and Eastern Districts of Louisiana. Those admissions reflect a practice that spans state and federal matters.

He is the principal of the Law Office of John Barron, LLC, where he maintains a solo practice. The office builds on his combination of in-house and firm experience, and on a background that includes both business and legal training. He continues to serve on local bar committees and the Duhe Inn of Court while managing his practice.

He currently focuses his practice on matters arising in Louisiana state and federal courts.
