About John Anthony Tony Ross
John Anthony Tony Ross Jr. built his legal foundation in Texas. He earned a J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law in 2005 and began gaining courtroom and office experience soon after. Early internships and clerkships put him inside county and private practice settings where he observed trial work and client counsel firsthand.
Before opening his own office he worked as a student intern and law clerk at the Nacogdoches County Lawyers Office in 2000. He spent time as a law clerk at McCurdy & McCurdy, LLP in 2003, handling research and assisting on matters that required court filings and case preparation. Those early roles gave him a steady exposure to criminal matters and trial procedure.
In 2006 he took on the role of managing lawyer at Ross Law Offices, PC. He has maintained that leadership role while developing a practice centered on criminal defense and related proceedings. He is admitted to practice in Texas and is also admitted to the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court. His State Bar of Texas membership dates to 2006.
Professional associations have been a constant part of his career. He holds memberships in the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. He has served on the board of the Denton County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association since 2007, and he joined the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association in 2008. National affiliations include the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National College for DUI Defense.
Peers and professional groups have given several recognitions. He was named among the Top 40 Under 40 by The National Trial Lawyers Association. He holds a 10.0 rating on AVVO and an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. These distinctions appear alongside his involvement in trial work and DUI defense circles.
Ross’s daily work balances litigation, client counseling and courtroom advocacy. He manages case strategy, prepares pretrial motions, and represents clients at hearings and trials. His experience ranges from routine hearings to contested matters in criminal court. He maintains his office at Ross Law Offices, PC, where he oversees case intake and litigation.
He continues to practice in Texas and before the U.S. Supreme Court, concentrating his current practice on criminal defense and DUI-related matters.
