About Johanna M.

Johanna M. Herrero trained in criminal justice before turning to the law. She earned a B.A. from the City University of New York’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2007 and a J.D. from Massachusetts School of Law in 2011. Those classrooms set the stage for a practice based in Massachusetts courts and federal filings.

After law school Herrero built a practice that spans state and federal matters. She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and is authorized to appear before the U.S. District Court in Massachusetts. She serves as managing partner at the Law Office of Johanna Herrero, where she oversees case strategy, client intake and litigation practice. Her role combines courtroom work with supervising case preparation and office operations.

Herrero’s professional memberships reflect the circles where she spends most of her professional time. She holds current memberships in the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Boston Bar Association. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association. Those affiliations provide continuing legal education, professional resources and forums for peer engagement.

Her practice involves litigation and filings that require both state and federal attention. She prepares pleadings, represents clients at hearings and handles matters that progress to the federal level. Colleagues describe her approach as pragmatic; she balances courtroom advocacy with detailed preparation behind the scenes. The office manages a steady docket and places an emphasis on timely communication and case management.

Clients come to Herrero’s office for a range of matters that require understanding of procedural and substantive law in Massachusetts courts and federal district court. She is regularly engaged in work that requires coordination across agencies and courts. Outside the courtroom, Herrero maintains professional ties through bar association activities and stays current on developments that affect her practice areas.

She continues to lead the Law Office of Johanna Herrero and to represent clients in Massachusetts state courts and in the U.S. District Court in Massachusetts.
