About Johanna K. P.
Johanna K. P. Dennis earned her law degree from Temple University, receiving her J.D. in 2005. Her academic years in Philadelphia laid the groundwork for a career split between two neighboring legal markets. Early coursework and clinics at Temple exposed her to both litigation skills and transactional drafting.
She began practicing law in the late 2000s. In 2008 she worked at JD IP Law, LLC, a small firm that handled intellectual property matters among other matters. By 2014 she had moved to JD Law Associates, LLC, where she continued to take on a mix of client work. Those early roles put her in regular contact with business owners, entrepreneurs, and individuals needing counsel across a range of legal questions.
Over time Dennis shifted toward running her own practice. In 2023 she established Dennis Law, PLLC. Running a small firm has meant managing casework while overseeing day-to-day operations. It has also required balancing client intake, strategic planning for matters, and the administrative side of a private practice.
Her license covers Pennsylvania and New York, and she has handled matters that cross state lines. That dual-jurisdiction standing has shaped how she prepares for cases, files matters, and coordinates with counsel admitted in other forums. Working in two state systems has also required attention to varying procedural rules and state-level statutory schemes.
Colleagues describe Dennis as methodical in how she approaches client problems. She breaks complex issues into manageable parts and emphasizes clear explanations for clients. Over the years her docket has included counseling, transactional work, and courtroom appearances, reflecting a practice that mixes office-based legal drafting with courtroom advocacy when necessary.
She currently practices at Dennis Law, PLLC, where she represents clients in matters under the laws of Pennsylvania and New York.
