About Joel M.

Joel M. Pratt earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 2014. He completed his legal studies after a concentrated period at a law school known for rigorous training. That academic foundation prepared him for practice in Colorado, where he is licensed to practice law.

Pratt began his professional career in Colorado and joined Dailey Law P.C. in 2017. He moved into litigation work early on and gained experience handling client intake, pleadings, and courtroom matters. Over time he took on more responsibility for case management and courtroom preparation. Colleagues describe him as methodical in discovery and attentive to procedural detail.

Professional development has been a recurring theme in Pratt’s career. He completed Deposition Skills Training through the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. That program sharpened his approach to witness preparation and cross-examination. He applies those techniques in depositions and in preparing witnesses for trial testimony.

Pratt has been active in the El Paso County Bar Association. He has served as a trustee since 2018. In 2019 he accepted the role of chair of the New Lawyers Division, a post he holds today. In those roles he has organized events aimed at new practitioners, overseen mentorship programs, and contributed to bar governance. His bar work places him in regular contact with other local practitioners and court staff.

On the practice side, Pratt handles civil litigation matters at Dailey Law P.C. He works on case strategy, discovery, and motion practice, and he represents clients in hearings and depositions. He aims for clear communication with clients about procedural timelines and litigation risks. Outside the courtroom he spends time drafting briefs and preparing exhibits. His day-to-day work combines litigation tasks with client counseling.

Pratt’s professional path shows steady involvement in both courtroom work and local bar leadership. He remains based at Dailey Law P.C., where he continues to represent clients in Colorado civil litigation. His current practice focus is civil litigation and deposition work.
